A guitarist for over 35 years, Mark Fitchett is an artist whose compositional, performance and improvisational skills cross multiple musical boundaries. His music draws on influences from Jazz, Rock, Country, R&B, and Blues, exemplifying the best of each world, without diminishing his own unique approach and personality. Mark has recorded several CDs under his own name and his guitar work has been featured on television commercials, movie scores, and on many other artists’ recordings.
Mark Fitchett studied composition, arranging and film scoring at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. He also received an Associate Degree in Dance from El Camino College and a Bachelor of Arts in Composition from CSU Long Beach.
He is a four-time nominee for the Lester Horton Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music for Dance with music for The Regina Klenjoski Dance Company with Love Lies Waiting, Christian’s Lullaby, The Museum Project, and most recently The Crossings. Other projects with Regina include Dear Mimi, Original Sin and It Feels Like Pitch Black.
Mark has also worked composing and editing music for various Los Angeles choreographers including Lula Washington and Robert Gilliam. Mark currently owns and operates three music schools in the Long Beach and the South Bay communities.
