New Zealand-based Singer and Songwriter Matthias Wichtrup presents his works at Audiosparx. Matthias studied music at the Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany, and gained other qualifications for popular music while studying there. He released four CDs as a singer and songwriter (My Face Is Not My Face, My Loneliness, Mr. M, and Behind the Horizon) and various CDs for meditation, relaxation, music therapy and Tai Chi.
Today, Matthias is director of Manuka Music based in Paraparaumu, New Zealand. His passion besides performances is the recording of production music (Manuka Dreams and Manuka Music Productions) in different styles, ranging from Classical to Modern Music, and songwriting.
Matthias is a multi-instrumentalist and is influenced by many musicians from different genres but mainly from the Progressive Rock and Folk. You will find Classical elements as well as Rock and Blues in his music. Some of the pieces are very complex compositions and show a variety of different sounds and atmospheres, spaces and colours. Other songs are ballads performed solo on a piano or acoustic guitar and others are straight Rock tunes with driving guitar riffs or Symphonic-Rock elements.
